World Mental Health Day

“The occasion of World Mental Health Day provides a moment to reflect upon how far we’ve come but also, to realise how much further we have to go. Mental health is far better understood and for that we are grateful of course but it is still not receiving the level of attention it fully deserves. So, this is a time to think about what’s been achieved but also, how far we have to go and what more needs to be done. The well-being of others needs to be recognised as a pressing, urgent imperative. The Graham Shapiro Foundation is gratified to have played a significant role in raising awareness of mental health issues but we remain all too aware of what else can be done before the stigma surrounding mental health is finally dispelled. Far too many people, young and old, continue to suffer and this above all is why we will continue to strive to alleviate suffering and promote personal well-being for everyone.” – Graham Shapiro
