Our Trustees

The Graham Shapiro Foundation Board of Trustees is legally accountable for the work of the Foundation. The board sets the Foundation’s strategy and has the authority to help make decisions on the business plan, budget and policies.


Professor John M. Mohin OBE
John, having served as head of overseas operations for Wedgwood, most recently as Managing Director. He held the Royal Warrant by Appointment to Her Majesty the Queen and was made OBE for services to business and charity. He was conferred with a Honorary Doctorate for Services to British Ceramics and worked with leading brands including Coalport,Minton, Spode and Royal Crown Derby.

John Mohin is a Freeman of the City of London, Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Marketing and was appointed Business Mentor for Commonwealth First, operating under the auspices of The Commonwealth Enterprise and Investment Council.


Matthew Jackson
Matthew is a senior solicitor that has acted for global companies. He has been an Associate Director in the Corporate and Commercial Team at Emms Gilmore Liberson (EGL) Solicitors. Specialising in Supply chain agreements, Intellectual property,Agency and distribution,Data Protection and freedom of information, Consumer law, Confidentiality and Franchising.

He is now a partner at The Company solicitor.


Martin Nolan
Martin is a Business & Leadership Coach, Executive Mentor. Coach for Bentley Motors & on MMU MBA. Goldman Sachs 10KSB Growth Expert.

Martin is Vice Chair of the board of PANDA (the Performing Arts Network & Development Agency) and a board member at Just Psychology. He also acts as an advisor to the charity Act4Africa.

 

 


Mark Hamill
Co-Founder and Managing Director of ARCET Global (UK and UAE) – 2019 to present.

Formerly Partner and Managing Director of Awards International UAE – December 2013 to May 2019.

Mark has been in the UAE for nine years, where he started as a consultant for a Customer Experience Consultancy.
In 2013, Mark setup Awards International UAE which ran 15 successful large-scale business Awards programmes with the average audience being in excess of 250 business leaders. In addition to this, Mark and his team managed to successfully achieve partnership with Government departments for the Awards programmes. Over the years, Mark and his team have successfully built a large and engaged network of business people. Throughout the past five years, the team ran a series of breakfast events which were designed to engage and inform certain sections of the business community. Particularly in Customer Experience, Innovation and Employee Engagement.
Mark’s focus is now on building more engaging Awards concepts and community events to fit with customer and market needs, with Major Events and Training Programmes being held in the UAE, USA and Hungary.


Alissa Koopal
Alissa serves as Chief Executive Officer at Pennine Events Ltd, a leading event management agency with focus on major, mass and complex live events in Sports, Culture and the public & third sector realm. Alissa’s entrepreneurial background and creative problem-solving credentials stem from her current and previous roles & appointments, where she has worked with, and supported, leading figureheads from an array of industries.

She takes pleasure in being a public speaker, championing women in business and entrepreneurialism, and up to recently, was part of the senior leadership team at Culture Liverpool, Liverpool City Council- where Alissa was also appointed as head of The Mayor of Liverpool’s influential ‘Mayoral Club’ through which she created an exclusive business initiative for Liverpool, which fosters a symbiotic ecosystem between the public and private sectors to collectively drive the cultural agenda and prosperity of the city.

Alissa commented, “I am very humbled to be able to play a part to support the Graham Shapiro Foundation. It aids causes that are extremely close to my heart. It underpins the importance of mental wellbeing as a priority for every person, regardless of background or status. Alongside this, I am thrilled to also support young entrepreneurialism in the UK.”


Jade Shapiro
Jade is a young entrepreneur and chartered designer specialising in graphic design, creative marketing and account management. Jade graduated from Birmingham City University with a First Class Honours and then joined Graham Shapiro Design®, Interloopmailer® and Reggie Education® following her degree.

Jade commented: “I feel very privileged to be part of the Graham Shapiro Foundation alongside my fellow trustees, it is a charity that is very close to my heart. To be involved in inspiring young entrepreneurs across the UK and having the opportunity to support our wonderful mental health charities is something that I am very passionate about.”
